Nintendo announced today that the Nintendo Wii will be launching November 19th in the US for a price of $250, just in time for the holiday season. Nintendo plans to have around 25 games available for the Wii this year priced at $50, while their Virtual Console download service will carry 30 classic games priced at $5-$10.
To get you started the Wii will come bundled with the 'Wii Sports' game that includes games such as tennis, golf, baseball and bowling to showcase the Wii's unique controls.
In a bit of surprising news, the Wii will also include different "channels" that include a weather and news channel as well as a photo channel that allows users to display their digital photos on their television, poising the Wii to not only be a gaming console but a media center. The Wii will also include the Opera web browser that will allow owners to surf the web from their television.
Nintendo plans to ship 4 million Wii consoles worldwide this year.
